1.) Being a mom.....that is my most important job, it comes above and beyond everything else. I work outside the home full time, and I am a full time mom. I've had my share of "criticism" for being a working mom. And what it comes down to.....I do what I have to FOR MY KIDS! They come above and beyond everything else. They are my most precious beings.....and I waited a long time to have them in my life and I wouldn't change a single thing! Hope to in the future be able to stay at home and home school both boys at least until high school. We'll see how that works out though.

2.) Life.....Living it! I have been there, done that. Life seems to change when you have seen as much as I have in my short little life. I've seen death more times than I wish to count, I have seen drug and alcohol addiction, both mine and my brothers, I've seen cancer and it's destruction, I've had cancer and seen it's destruction, I hate cancer and it's destruction. I've seen and lived to tell about divorce. I've seen and lived to tell about spousal abuse. So my motto...LIFE HAPPENS! Live it....learn to roll with the punches, be smart, but be FREE! Don't let the chains of life bind you...be who you are and be the best you that you can be! When life gets you down remember that this too will pass. Just LIVE, because you never know when that life will be over!
3.) I'm a bleeding heart, my passion is helping people. I would help the people in life that I loathe, if they'd let me. I'd love to be able to go to Chile or Haiti and help those families, those children piece back their lives, even if it only meant all I have to offer is a safe place for them to express their fears. And if I didn't have to leave my own children behind to do it. I want to help charities, I want to help those less fortunate than myself. I'm going to be participating in a Friendship walk that benefits children with special needs and their families in a few weeks time.
4.) Animals, I love them. Any and all kinds, they are beautiful and special and amazing to watch. I couldn't feed the birds before because my cat would pounce and scare them away. But now my kittie is gone and I can feed them once again.
I fed the squirrels dried fruit. They sure did gobble that right up. I love the lizards that climb our walls, we have so many baby lizzies all over and I am trying to teach Thomas to respect the animals. I hit a bunny once, and almost lost my mind crying. And my mom was behind me and told me I must have only stunned him because he hopped away....she was probably telling me that to make me feel better!5.) My blankets that I make. In this post I called them my obsession, but they are really a passion! My newest two....

I'm glad we have similiar passions in life.....
Erin ~ You are an amazing woman and I mean it with all my heart when I say it is a joy to get to know you. We share more things in common than you realize and I look forward to reading more.
seriously you are amazing! you're so full of passion in every aspect of your life and it shows!! you are such a wonderful mother, wife, and woman!! and i love thinking of you guys every time presley snuggles her blankie!!
Beautiful words! You are so strong!
Wow, we have much in common, except I do not have your blanket-making talents (or anything-making talents really! lol).
I have been through a lot and gained much wisdom, and I'm better for it.
We share some same passions: animals and helping people. I did a post about my husband's passions. Visiting from Mama Kat's Writers Workshop.
Those are awesome passions!
I've needed a kick in the butt with motivation - I suppose if I got my passions in line, that would be a good start.
Great job!
What a great post! You are one strong mama, your little miracles are lucky to have a role model like you. :)
Love your post. I am currently out of the bird feeding season with a cat who adopted us.
It makes me sad when SAHM and working moms are mean to one another.
I think that every mom does what's best for her family: working inside the home, part time, outside the home, volunteering, homeschooling, sending them off to school. etc. :) You are a great mom and anyone who reads your blog should know that.
Cool! You have a lot of passions. I'm a little underdeveloped in that area. Hope you will come back and link next Tuesday also:)
a passionate person can really get your blood flowing and excited about life. thank you, erin :)
oh, and dont mind those people who judge for being a working mom. we make decisions based on what's good for our babies. i'm a SAHM and, while i do miss having a career, i've accepted the fact that this is what i have to do right now.
Wow, great passions. Love them. I'm inspired just reading you! I love your "life is too short" theme, I'm really trying to embrace that now.
And any animal lover is a friend of mine :-)
Also, what is with all you blogspot people who don't put up follow options for readers (RSS)? I'm not a blogspot user, so I don't want to follow you on google friends..I use google reader..but I see no way to sign up to follow you there. Am I missing it?
Love the blankets and I'm still TOTALLY jealous of them.
I love your blankets!
I work part-time and like you I actually do it for my kids! They have a much happier mommy AND we can pay for our necessities.
those blankets are precious!!! Love them! Coming by from mama Kats!
great post! you have definitely overcome a lot. kudos for doing so and maintaining a zest for life. all too often i see people become angry, and that's sad b/c they miss out on all the beauty that is around them.
All great obsessions!
Love your honesty and passion and hope and promise in this post! I've been catching up a little on your last few posts! Beautiful ring and oh so sweet proposal!
cute passions,
love your smiles!
I'm sorry that you have received any criticism for being a working mom. I don't understand why people are so judgmental.
I hate that you were criticized for being a working mom. I just hate that kind of stuff.
