Lazy Days and the park

Thomas loves to go to the park, and every time we go it seems he has a different aspect of the park that he likes. Sometimes he just likes to people watch and wander around. For a while he loved the swings, and then of course he loved the "wee" or the slide as we know it. But this last time we went, he didn't really care for the wee, but he did love the big red tube, which for a long time he wouldn't go through.

Christopher usually just likes to go and ride in the stroller, and once we get there he just likes to sit and people watch! But this last time he adored the swing, laughing and smiling the whole time!

Wednesday Writing

More fun over at MamaKat's so stop by and check it out!
The Prompts:
1.) What is your life's anthem? You know...that song that is ALWAYS in your head. The one you'd go to sing first if someone told you to sing a song right NOW. What is it and what does it mean to you?(inspired by Tattooed Minivan Mom)
2.) We love telemarketers don't we!?! Describe a memorable experience you had with one.(inspired by Literal Dan
3.) How much does focusing on weight affect your daily life?(inspired by Musings Of A Blond Mom)
4.) Describe in what ways you expect too much from your significant other. Do they deserve an apology?(inspired by Carty Party Of Three)
5.) List ten things that make you HAPPY.(inspired by our irritation at our own complaining from last weeks "Sick Of" posts.)
6.) Share a sleep walking story of your own!!(inspired by my scary four year old)
I could write a novel on all of them! Let's start with #1 and see how far we get!
1.) Any song by Kenny Chesney....anything, I know them all, and I can relate them to any time in my life! Some better than others! But overall it seems that I will stand back up by Sugarland seems to be appropriate! Seems all through my life there is always something waiting to knock me down.....I have lived a lot of life, lost a lot of people in my short time on this Earth, have been faced with a lot of adversities, and my life is nothing like I ever thought it would end up, even from just 5 years ago! But no matter what happens I never seem to let anything keep me down....for long anyway....and no matter what....I will stand back up!
A few of the highlights in my life....I lost my Grandmother, my dad and my grandfather all when I was 10, and within 3 months of each other. I lost countless friends throughout high school. I lost my brother, he was too young to go, but apparently that was the plan, tomorrow, the 28th he will have been gone 13years!! Time flies but he is remembered daily! I lost my step father 2 years later, I lost a child many years ago, was told I would never have children of my own, I might get pregnant but would never carry the baby full term. (and now I have two beautiful boys, even if the 2nd one was premature) I lost many of loves in life, but who hasn't. Some I lost, some I left behind, and now I have everything I ever wanted. I had my 2nd baby a little over a month premature, they took him from me after 30 seconds of seeing him, not only to the NICU but to a completely different hopsital, so I sat for 4 days and only saw pics on the cell phone of him! He ended up in the hospital in January for issues, he's had episodes since then, for now he's happy and healthy. I've had cancer removed and will go in for more surgery in August, and after that is all over, I WILL STAND BACK UP! I may be beaten and bruised but I will stand back up!
And just a note on Prompt #4....I don't think I expect too much from my Spouse....so no apology needed but he should get an award for everything he does! =)

Doctor's Updates

Well both boys had a doctor's appointment.

Thomas is 28 lbs and 33 1/4 inches. He is healthy and still hates the doctor! He got a shot and his finger pricked for an iron check, I think he wouldn't have minded either of those things if they didn't feel the need to hold him down! And of course he loves that the doc gives him a lolli after each appointment even if he didn't get a shot, and he gives him Brother's lolli to take home!
Christopher is 20 lbs and 7 oz and 29 inches. Hard to believe they are 15 months apart when they are so close in weight! And before you know it there won't be much difference in the height. Oh yeah and Christopher hates the doc too! But he didn't get any shots today so he just must not like his white coat! Not to mention the fact that he's on a Mommy kick right now and if you take him away from mommy he loses his mind!

The doc still wants him going to the specialist, but I just can't seem to bring myself to make the appointment. I don't want anything pointless done on my kids that doesn't need to be done! They say he is supposed to overcome or grow out of his laryngomalacia. Which I don't think will ever happen, so why senselessly subject him to being poked and proded by a doctor when he is healthy, and fine and sure his breathing is a little loud, and he will forever have the croupy barky cough when he is sick and we worry more so when he is sick and the airway is inflamed but they say it is possible there is a surgery needed but I think we can wait several years to know that!
So for now, I am just blessed and grateful that they are both happy and healthy!
(cell phone pics, but aren't they adorable? =) Love them!)
As for my docs....well let's NOT talk about that shall we....and we have a tentative surgery scheduled for August 5th, I will update you all more as time goes on!

Let's Remember....

A lot of people think Memorial Day is just a 3 day weekend, just another time to have a BBQ, sling a few drinks, and have some dogs and burgers....and that's all great, and while you are doing all that and enjoying family....let's raise a glass, say a prayer, think about our freedom and the price it costs! Remember those that have gone before us to fight for our right to have these BBQ's and those that have served our country, the true heros that keep us free.

I thought I would share this email that a friend sent to me....a little perspective just in time for Memorial Day! So this is for all of those out there who are married to anyone serving in our armed forces, To all the parents who have a child in the armed forces, and for those of us who know what it is they give up to be in the armed forces!

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard...to listen to his son whine about being bored....to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes.

To be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work....to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep....to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower....to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

....to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

....to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.....to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.

....to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog......to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

....to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.....to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier...

Is loving one.

My Baby is TWO!

CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE, IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY, CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE, EVERYBODY HAVE SOME FUN!

I can't hardly believe it's been two years since Thomas was born. Just a tiny....well not so tiny at 9lbs 9 oz. But he was still little to me and Daddy. And now he is TWO! He's growing and changing so much every day, he's starting to really talk and be a little person, his vocabulary has jumped up significantly in the last 2 months!

Birth

1st Birthday

Playing shy first thing this morning out in the yard

Look at my handsome boy!
One of his many birthday presents from Mom and Dad

He LOVED it, now he has a place to draw and erase and color and be creative!

I can't believe how he is looking like a little boy and not so much a baby!

Everyone has a door or something to measure their kids on, we'll we bought a little wooden train thingie to keep up on the boys, and this was the first time we measured Thomas on it, he measured 33 1/4 inches give or take, he goes to the doc on Tuesday so we'll see!

He wanted to mark on it too! We meant to do it right after his nap but forgot until right before bedtime....which accounts for the heavy shadows on the wall, and all the photos are unedited.

BBQ's.....Gotta Love em

Three day weekends always mean SOMEONE has a BBQ, and when there is a BBQ there is children, new friends and good times!

Thomas and Ben hanging out and playing with the hose!
And then it was time for a little B-Ball....SLAM DUNK!

And of course more water play.....And see Marie's garden? We had a HUGE salad that came from her garden....DELICIOUS!!

Chloe trying to get warm with her towel and laying on the warm bricks!

Thomas was loving playing on Ben's CARS big wheel, all those noises and stuff to push and hear, kept him busy for a little while!

And he always came back to the B-Ball

Marie and Jesse checking out photos while Ben is learning to use Marie's Camera, I can't wait to hear about what kind of pics he got, Thank goodness for digital cameras!

Thomas trying to figure out the round swing!

And of course Christopher had to be content chewing on whatever he could get his hands on! I can't imagine how it's going to be in about a year!

Bella having her turn on the swing, complete with her tiara, what a little princess!

And Chloe enjoying "hanging around" on the tree with a million dollar smile!

Thomas' 2nd Birthday party

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY THOMAS!
Thomas had his 2nd birthday party this past weekend. It was great fun. Thomas was feeling a little under the weather so he didn't get to play much with all his friends that came to help him celebrate. But he perked up a little towards the end, and he did enjoy his cake! Grandma made the cake, a Mickey cake, it looked great and then Mommy had to go and put a silly face on it. As you can see I am NOT a cake decorator, I think I'll keep my day job.
Everyone had a lot of fun, running around and playing, and Christopher spent some time with Aunt Tami and Grandma! We had wonderful food that Daddy BBQ'd up, we got to catch up with friends and family. Thomas got a lot of really great and fun gifts! He hasn't yet had enough time to play with all of them!

So thanks everyone for coming and sharing his birthday! Click here to see all the pics from his party!

Back to writing Wednesdays

Since I didn't do any of the prompts last week, I better get back into the swing of things this week, So head on over to Mama Kat's for all the fun!

The Prompts:

1.) Define goodness...joy...sorrow...and anger using pictures you've taken.

2.) Tomorrow I will do it differently. Here's how...

3.)Describe a 'sound' from your childhood. What was it? When did you hear it? What does it bring to mind?
I remember always hearing Coyotes.....it was usually after 10pm all the way up until morning. It used to scare me so much, I was like 6 or 7, and the way they would yip and yipe and carry on was just creepy to me as a kid. I remember I would do anything to try to ignore them, and it took everything I had not to go tearing out of my room and into my brother's or my parents. I would put the pillow over my head but it never cut out the noise, I would talk to my stuffed mousie in hopes that it would drownd out the sound, I think I tried everything shy of screaming out the window to tell them to shut up! But I would never do that because I was almost too scared to move! But now if I hear them all it brings to mind is the night I saved my poor kittie from the evil coyote and chased him down the street, which a lot of people find entertaining, picturing me chasing some coyote down the street! But I can assure you I did, and my adrenaline was so pumped if he would have turned on me I would have shredded him! haha My poor Tigger....he did survive with hardly a scratch on him, his nails were all tore up and he had blood dripping from his mouth, come to find out...IT WASN'T HIS! So he had kicked some coyote butt! So he did swell up a little and lived to meow another day. And unfortunately he is still MIA from back in November! And I still miss him!

4.) I remember when...
I remember EVERYTHING, so it's hard to pick just one thing to write about!

5.) Right now is the best time to start. What's your first step?
Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? =) I think the 1st step would be making a list of what needs to be done tomorrow!

A Miracle Life cut short

My heart is heavy today, as a blog that I have been following for a while, litle Kayleigh, has passed away. She was born a true miracle, she lived 11 months, had countless surgeries and procedures, and just shy of her 1st birthday she has passed. I take this opportunity to extend my heart and my prayers to Kayleigh's family, and hope that they may find some comfort in their time of loss!

Happy Mother's Day!

To all the mother's out there, Happy Mother's Day!

I had an excellent Mommy's Day! My "boys", which includes my husband, I am the Queen of my house! heehee They got me my favorite flowers....well almost! I Love Star Gazer Lilies and these aren't Star Gazers but they are amazing all the same! And the Smell, it's just wonderful. When Steven bought them for me after Christopher was born every nurse that walked through the door commented on them! And I got my Mother's Ring that I wanted way back when....good thing we waited until the 2nd one came! It just didn't get here on time. That's okay, I can wait. It will have Thomas' and Christopher's name on it, as well as their birthstones, set in platinum! I can't wait to get it! As soon as I do, I'll be posting pics of it you can be sure of that!

Thomas felt it necessary to give me back all the milk he drank this morning, and let me tell you how much I appreciated that! LOVE that sour milk smell! And Christopher thought it would be a good idea to give me his first dirty diaper in 2 days! Well Dad opened that one for me! As they napped I spent time getting everything started for Thomas' 2nd birthday party next weekend! I can't wait, it's going to be so much fun!

My flowers....of course I have a better pic of them but it for some reason won't load. Oh well, you get the idea!

Now let me tell you, rather show you, just a couple reasons why I am so happy to be a Mommy!

And of course, a very special Happy Mother's Day to the best Mom a girl could ever ask for! She's always been there for me, and I can't even put into words how much she means to me!
