MamaKat is at it again, and she has a brand new set of prompts this week, head on over to her place to see all the rest of the prompts.
This week I chose to write on Prompt #2
2.) A day in your life...recap.(inspired by Jennifer from Toddler Tirade)
Now this doesn't say whether is a WORK day in the life....or a WEEKEND in the life....so let's do a little of both...But I'm telling you now, it's a LONG day, and you might even get tired just reading it.
6:10 6:45 am - wakeup and sleepily make my way to the TV to do my shred....yes I am doing the 30 day shred and although I'm definitely NOT losing the 20lbs in 30 days it is toning me...or so everyone says. And NO I am not going to post pics....you wouldn't want to see them anyway.
6:50 - 7 am Shower and get dressed while listening to a babbling Christopher and a Jumping in his crib Thomas on their respective monitors
7 - 7:15am I do my hair and makeup Yes it doesn't take me all the long, I don't wear a lot of makeup and I don't do a whole lot to my hair...does that make me boring?
7:15 - 8:00am This time consists of calling my mom, while getting up the boys, getting them dressed, coming out to the living room, making Thomas breakfast, which is usually pannycakes as we call them, and a couple of days he will ask for cereal and then Christopher gets a bottle and then I set them up to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, after they are set I proceed to make their lunches, get milk and juice in their respective containers pack up Thomas' bankie and his Monkey along with the diaper bag and get it all in the car and ready to go. After that I do anything else that I need to get done before we leave....finish my make up, make the bed, throw laundry in the washer/dryer. Try to calm a crying/crawling after mommy Christopher who apparently thinks I am going to leave him at home with no food. Get Thomas' shoes on, FINALLY get them out the door and into the car.
8:10 drop off both boys at Tracy's where they spend a loverly, relaxing, chaotic free, stress free day, learning, watching a movie, reading books, playing outside and playing with toys.
8:20 am arrive at work....work all day long...while blogging intermittently throughout the day since it's been painfully slow and I have the time to comment and read all of my favorite blogs. and then I will work some more, try to avoid falling asleep, but grateful that in today's times I still have a job that pays me decent money.
5pm clock out and RUN not walk to the nearest exit to get to my car to go get my baby boys and go home.
5:30 - 5:40pm arrive home, hand off children to daddy so he can get them changed into their swimming suits so we can get to swim class on time, while I go and get into my swim suit and hope that there are no ensuing tantrums as there were last night about every tiny thing. (Like I am the worst mommy in the world to give my oldest goldfish to snack on before swim class since we can't eat dinner until we get home, so he threw them on the floor and proceeded to have a tantrum.)
5:50 - 6:20pm we swim and learn how to kick and jump off the side and tantrum because we don't want to kick anymore, we just want to hang out on the steps and watch the water filter into the massive filtration system. All the while Christopher is buoyantly floating and having fun with Grandma with occasional kicks here and there....Normally he is a froggy!
6:20 - 6:40pm get both boys changed back into their diapers and clothes and get home so that we can all eat. As said children are starting to get whiney with hunger.
6:45 - 7:15/30 pm make super easy dinner that has already been partially prepared the night before at 9:30 at night with the hubs standing out at the BBQ with flashlight in hand, feed screaming toddler and he doesn't want what is given to him and then wants "tiz" and points across the table and keeps repeating himself over and over and whining and carrying on, on the brink of a tantrum if I dont' realize very quickly that he wants CHEESE, actually he wants MORE "tiz" on his chicken taco. Feed a very hungry, wonderful I will eat anything you give me 10 month old, but if I don't keep shoveling the food in or have something he can pick up and shovel in himself he starts to cry. All the while trying to have adult conversation with the adults in the room. Get said children wiped faces and clean hands....why? I do not know, because it's going to be bath night.
7:15/30 - 7:45/8pm Get Christopher bathed, let him splash around a little, put cream on him and get him in jammies to pass off to Dad so he can then occupy him so he does not turn into the crying, screaming, crawling after mommy 10 month old. Take tantruming Thomas into the bath where he HATES to have his hair washed, and give him a bath with lots of BUBBLES, so he can play and throw toys and water and use the bubbles along with washcloth to clean the shower walls and the sliding bath doors...and if you even remotely mention that you are going to turn on the shower he is all done and wants out.....NOW. Get him in his jammies and bring him out to living room where is allowed to watch his ELMO until it's time for bed.
8 - 8:30pm play on floor with pouting tired Christopher until he can't take it anymore and has to have his bottle and to bed with him. Then Thomas wants to hear ELMO in the background while you read him books. And then Daddy gets his bankie and monkey and Thomas and it's off to bed for Thomas.
8:30 - 11 Now it's time for clean up....clean up toys or whatever else destructo1 and destructo2 have left for us. Clean up from dinner, wash bottles, cups, dishes...you know all the fun stuff. Put away pots and think about what if anything needs to be done for tomorrow. Laundry is sometimes thrown in there and then there is checking my email, if there is something on TV that we want to watch. And then at about 11 or 11:30 I throw myself in bed to do it all over again tomorrow. At least until swim lessons are over next week....then we spend that time trying to keep some sort of peace and try to remain tantrum free between dinner and bedtime by going for walks and going to grandma's and playing in the yard and playing on the floor in the family room.

I got tired just reading about your day. :) Thanks for dropping by my blog and the great comments on my craft cupcakes. :)
Did I really do all that stuff when my kids were little?
I stayed home with my daughters, so I didn't have that whole go to work thing. But with my son, yes, that does seem to be the routine. But by the time he was two, I was doing it all by myself.
God bless mommies of little ones!
Busy day! Great outline for your day! Yes swim lessons going on in our house also, and there are tantrums just to get on their swimshorts. Stopping by from Writer's workshop!
You're right, that is a long day! You seem to have it all under control though!
Wow...
I need a nap now. :-)
I've forgotten days like that.....I think it's a survival thing.
Have a beautiful day
Wow, reading this was like reading a day in my life, just with only one boy! Work is painfully slow for us too so I've decided to blog during that time and save my after work time for my son and I since I spend SOOOO much time on here (did I mention it was slow?)
Thanks for stopping by! It's funny our little ones have the same fascination with gardening tools.
Props to you for doing the shred. I have never finished a TV workout. The couch seems like a much more comfortable position to be jealous of the instructors.
With your schedule I am surpised you don't make room for a tantrum of your own!
Thank you for stopping by my blog!
What a busy day!!! I often wonder what it would be like to be a working mom outside the home. I cannot imagine the stress. Sounds like you are Super Mom!!!
I loved reading this, and you are so normal lol My days sound like this too, arn't we great mums!!!!
